Cardboard freightcars

Like the buildings, also freight and passenger cars can be build out of cardboard. In fact this principle is such that one can create his own construction kit. An example is shown below.

Here are shown all parts needed to construct the underside of the 20 tons open freight car.
All parts needed to construct the car are drawn on a piece of paper. The drawing is copied as much as cars to be set up. The drawing is glued onto suitable cardboard (about 0.5 mm thick), the pieces are cut oout and glued together.
The upper structure is shown next:

Upperstructure and underside together form the total car. The general idea about building up is shown next:

The car only needs wheels and bearings to run. The next picture shows what it looks like when it has been put together:

Text has been added bij means of white ink. As you can see this one has lost its brakes.
